After several days of negotiations involving different versions, offers, and counteroffers, Chilean club Colo Colo and Uruguayan club Peñarol have reached an agreement on the transfer of goalkeeper Brayan Cortés to Peñarol.
Peñarol officially announced the signing, stating "The goalkeeper of the Chilean national team arrives at the Carbonero." Cortés will join Peñarol on a loan deal lasting until the end of the year. The Uruguayan club, managed by Diego Aguirre, is currently preparing for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, where they will face Racing de Avellaneda.
Accompanying the announcement, Peñarol released a video emphasizing the historic connection between the club and Chile.
