A'ja Wilson's Injury Status Gets Update From Aces Coach Becky Hammon

The Las Vegas Aces suffered an 87-78 defeat against the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty on Tuesday. The game remained competitive in the first half before the Liberty dominated after halftime.

Aces star center A'ja Wilson played only 14 minutes, contributing four points, two rebounds, and two assists. She exited the game after sustaining a right wrist injury when fouled by New York's Leonie Fiebich with 4:13 left in the second quarter. Wilson braced her fall with her wrists and took a hard spill, ultimately being ruled out at halftime while wearing a protective brace on the bench.

Head coach Becky Hammon provided an update on Wilson's condition post-game, revealing she will undergo an MRI the following morning. This injury follows Wilson's recent absence from three games in June due to concussion protocol after an incident involving Los Angeles Sparks player Dearica Hamby.

Despite her injury, Wilson joined teammates in the huddle during the game. The Aces are scheduled to play next against the Washington Mystics on Thursday in Washington D.C.
