Angels draft South Milwaukee-raised athlete

Nate Snead, a pitcher from South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has been drafted by the Los Angeles Angels organization. A celebration was held in his honor at Classic Lanes bowling alley in his hometown.

Snead expressed overwhelming emotions about achieving his baseball dream, stating that every life decision led to this moment. He emphasized his excitement about sharing the achievement with the people closest to him.

Snead developed his skills playing for the South Milwaukee Rockets before his college career, which included stints at Wichita State and the University of Tennessee. He won a national championship with Tennessee and was selected on the first day of the Major League Baseball draft this spring.

He described the profound impact of hearing his name called on national television by the Angels, fulfilling a dream he's held since age nine. Regarding his role, Snead stated the Angels ultimately plan to develop him as a starting pitcher. For the remainder of this season, he expects to work as a reliever at whatever minor league level the organization deems most beneficial, expressing readiness to pitch whenever and wherever needed.
