Antony has rejected two offers to leave Manchester United this summer. This follows comments from Ruben Amorim suggesting he could still have a future at the club. United, who signed Antony from Ajax for £82m in 2022, put him up for sale after a disappointing spell where he scored only five Premier League goals in two seasons. He was loaned to Real Betis in January 2024 after falling out of favour.
During his loan at Real Betis, Antony improved significantly, scoring nine goals and helping the team reach the Conference League final. Despite this improvement, Manchester United remain keen to sell him this summer, valuing him at around £30m, as they have spent over £120m on new attacking players Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. While Betis is interested in bringing him back, financial hurdles make a permanent return unlikely.
Interest also came from Brazil, specifically from Botafogo and Antony's boyhood club Sao Paulo. However, Brazilian reports state that Antony has rejected a potential return to his home country, informing both clubs he is not considering a move back to Brazil at this stage of his career. He reportedly thanked the clubs for their interest but confirmed he is not currently interested.
Multiple European clubs are believed to be interested in signing Antony. His agent, Junior Pedroso, confirmed the player is on the market and that "anything was possible" regarding his future, including being "open" to a move to Saudi Arabia. Pedroso stated several clubs are inquiring about his status.
