Lionel Messi, who has scored 885 career goals, recently selected his favorite goal from his storied career. The 38-year-old chose his header against Manchester United in the 2009 Champions League final, citing the significance of the moment and the culmination of an unforgettable year.

This selection is part of the charity project 'A goal in life,' in which artist Refik Anadol will transform the goal into a work of art. The Inter Miami club foundation will auction the artwork, with proceeds going to charity.

Additionally, Messi confirmed that his recent appearance for Argentina was his last competitive match on Argentine soil. While he has shown no immediate plans to retire, he indicated his international career is nearing its end and expressed doubt about participating in the 2026 World Cup.
