AS Roma battling Leeds and Marseille for Igor Paixao

AS Roma have entered the competition to sign Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao, joining Marseille and Leeds United in the pursuit. Marseille previously agreed to personal terms with the Brazilian on a five-year contract but saw their €28 million bid rejected, while Leeds also submitted an offer.

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is prioritizing a new winger to strengthen the attack. The club believes they can meet Feyenoord's €30 million valuation after generating funds from sales including Enzo Le Fee, Leandro Paredes, Tammy Abraham, and Nicola Zalewski.

Paixao is coming off a standout 2024/25 season with 18 goals and 19 assists across all competitions. His performances against top clubs like Manchester City, Benfica, and AC Milan in the Champions League heightened his profile. Gasperini is seen as an ideal developer for his potential.

Additionally, Roma are monitoring Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva as another target. Wolves plan to sell the 23-year-old Portuguese player, valued around €20 million, after his impressive loan at Las Palmas. His contract expires next summer.

Roma have already bolstered their attack by securing Brighton's Evan Ferguson on loan, joining an offensive lineup featuring Artem Dovbyk, Stephan El Shaarawy, Paulo Dybala, and Matias Soule. They've also signed midfielder Neil El Aynaoui and are pursuing deals for Flamengo full-back Wesley and Hellas Verona defender Daniele Ghilardi.
