Positive news emerged for Atalanta and the Italian national team as Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini returned to full training under coach Ivan Juric in Bergamo on Tuesday, following their recent injury lay-offs. They were joined by Nicola Zalewski, who also participated after missing the last two matches due to injury.
Both Scamacca and Scalvini faced significant injury challenges last year, with each suffering cruciate ligament injuries that sidelined them for the first half of the season. Scamacca later sustained a serious hamstring injury, while Scalvini dealt with a shoulder issue, causing them to miss most of the 2024-25 campaign. Although they started in Atalanta's first two Serie A matches of the 2025-26 season, minor injuries have kept them out for over a month.
Now, all three players are back in training and are pushing to be available for Atalanta's upcoming Serie A clash against Lazio on Sunday, marking a potential boost for the team's lineup.
