Baltimore Ravens Sign Former Browns RB

The Baltimore Ravens are preparing for the 2025 NFL season with ambitions to win the AFC and reach the Super Bowl. Despite already having a strong roster, they are making preseason additions, including signing former Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson.

Johnson gained recognition during his 2021 season with the Browns, rushing for 534 yards and three touchdowns while averaging over five yards per carry. He appeared in 31 games over the past two seasons with the Jaguars.

Johnson faces significant competition in the Ravens' backfield. Derrick Henry remains the primary running back after rushing for over 1,900 yards in 2024, while Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell are firmly positioned as the second and third options. Johnson will likely compete for the fourth running back spot if the team retains four players at the position.
