Brad Angelo Wins PBA50 Hamtramck Singles Classic

Brad Angelo won the 2025 PBA50 Hamtramck Singles Classic, experiencing a dramatic turnaround after deep disappointment the previous week. Determined to move forward, he stated his belief in perseverance learned through his BowlU program and life.

Angelo held the top seed through the advancers round. He then defeated Andy Rettig and Troy Lint (with games of 279 and 244) in the Round of 8 to maintain the No. 1 seed for his fourth stepladder finals appearance of the season. He described crucial moments against Lint, including converting a 3-10 split and delivering key strikes late, attributing his success partly to higher ball speed and better pin carry.

In the title match, Angelo elected to let Lint (the No. 5 seed) start first. Angelo built momentum with four consecutive strikes in the middle frames, including a pivotal strike late in the seventh frame. Despite Lint's effort, Angelo secured the victory with a final score of 237 to Lint's 216. This marked Angelo's third career PBA50 Tour title and his second win of the year (after The Villages Classic in May), tying him with Chris Barnes for most wins this season.

An emotional Angelo expressed immense satisfaction, contrasting his feelings with the disappointment of the prior week. He revealed wearing a special custom jersey featuring his children (Dylan, Ryleigh, and Brielle), stating they are his motivation and that having them present made the win "extra special." He also wore good luck bracelets from his daughters.

Troy Lint reached the title match by winning three consecutive stepladder matches. He first defeated Chris Barnes (No. 4 seed) 214-191, closing with four strikes. He then beat Bill Rowe 222-194, finishing with three strikes. In the semifinal, Lint outbowled Parker Bohn III, starting with seven consecutive strikes en route to his victory.
