The Indiana Fever defeated the Las Vegas Aces 80-70 on Thursday, improving their season record to 13-12. Star player Caitlin Clark did not play, missing her third consecutive game due to a re-aggravated groin injury. While her return date is unknown, she remained highly engaged from the bench, visibly reacting to almost every officiating call during the game.
Clark frequently jumped out of her seat to react to whistles, either applauding or protesting calls. During the win over the Aces, she notably bolted from the bench onto the court in protest after a call against her teammate, Sophie Cunningham, which appeared to be disagreed with by the entire Fever bench.
Despite the Aces being called for five more fouls than the Fever, the Fever actually shot three fewer free throws. The Aces' advantage in free throws was partly attributed to Fever coach Stephanie White, who received a technical foul after vehemently arguing a call with officials.
