Canadian star defender Moise Bombito has been sidelined by injury again, as confirmed by his club OGC Nice. The 25-year-old from Montreal suffered a fractured left tibia during Sunday's 2-2 draw at Monaco in French Ligue 1 action.
Bombito had recently returned to club play on September 28 after a four-month absence due to wrist surgery and a tibia stress fracture. He was expected to rejoin the Canadian national team for friendlies against Australia and Colombia in the October international window prior to this new injury.
The injury occurred in the 50th minute of the match when Bombito fell awkwardly while trying to intercept a long ball from Dutch defender Jordan Teze. The ball bounced off Bombito's head, setting up Monaco forward Folarin Balogun for a goal-scoring opportunity, and Bombito was carried off the pitch on a stretcher as a result.
