Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona's young talent Dro Fernandez, though they face competition from Manchester City for the Spanish teenager's signature next year.
Fernandez, who is 17 years old, progressed through Barcelona's youth system and has performed impressively for the club's Atletico team, making one appearance so far. He is widely regarded as one of the top young talents in Spanish football but has yet to be called up to the senior squad under Hansi Flick.
His current contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2027, which could allow Chelsea to acquire him at a reduced price at the end of the current season.
On the field, Fernandez is noted for his strong dribbling ability, powerful long-range shooting, and creative vision, enabling him to create scoring opportunities and contribute important goals for Barcelona's youth teams. He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but is also capable of operating on the left wing.
Chelsea are advised to intensify their efforts to sign him, as he has the potential to become a generational talent and would add significant quality to their academy. While his development may require patience before promotion to the first team, he is seen as a valuable long-term investment for the club.
