Chelsea make enquiry about €50 million Barcelona player

Chelsea is preparing for the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain while simultaneously planning squad reinforcements for next season, particularly focusing on their return to the Champions League.

The club has already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens this summer and is known to be seeking a centre-back and goalkeeper. Additionally, Chelsea is now looking to add a new midfielder to their squad.

Chelsea's interest has centered on Barcelona's Marc Casado, and they have reportedly increased their pursuit. However, they face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United, who have also enquired about signing the player.

Barcelona is reportedly open to selling Casado for a suitable offer. Although his release clause is €100 million, the Spanish champions are expected to accept a fee around €50 million.

Casado, aged 21, played 36 matches for Barcelona in the 24/25 season, contributing one goal and six assists, demonstrating potential. However, a move to Chelsea would see him compete for playing time with existing midfielders like Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, and Moises Caicedo.
