Cone on QMB: ‘He’s awesome, I’d love to have him’

Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone observed Quentin Millora-Brown, a Filipino-American center formerly with the University of the Philippines (UP), during the national team's sendoff game. Playing for the Macau Black Bears as a reinforcement, Millora-Brown recorded six points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Cone expressed strong admiration for the 6'10" player's performance against Gilas' frontcourt, specifically praising his physicality, offensive rebounding, and size. Millora-Brown previously played one season at UP, winning the 2024 UAAP men's basketball championship. The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is attempting to classify him as a local player, but FIBA currently considers him a naturalized player. Millora-Brown's legal team has filed an appeal to change his status.

Despite Cone's enthusiasm—calling Millora-Brown "awesome" and stating "I'd love to have him"—he acknowledged the current impossibility, describing the prospect as "just a dream." Though Millora-Brown held his own against Gilas' big men in the game, his Macau Black Bears squandered a 21-point lead and lost 103-98.
