Como's president, Mirwan Suwarso, stated that signing global superstar Lionel Messi would be a "dream" for the club. Messi's current contract with Inter Miami runs until the end of the 2025 Major League Soccer season, and he is reportedly in negotiations regarding his future.

Under the management of Cesc Fabregas, Como achieved a surprising 10th place finish in Serie A last season following their promotion to the top flight.

President Suwarso outlined the club's vision, leveraging its location by Lake Como to attract high-profile visitors, particularly Hollywood stars. He explained that celebrities often visit the area on holiday and then express interest in attending matches, rather than the club actively inviting them. Notable attendees last season included actors Keira Knightley, Adrien Brody, and Hugh Grant. Furthermore, Lionel Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their children were recently spotted at Como's pre-season friendly against Lille.
