Deandre Ayton has joined the Los Angeles Lakers this season, aiming to revitalize his career after being signed following a buyout from the Portland Trail Blazers. Previously, he played for the Phoenix Suns, where he achieved the best performance of his career, and the Lakers are counting on him to have a strong year to bolster their championship contention hopes.

Ayton's preseason debut with the Lakers was challenging, raising concerns among fans, but he is expected to benefit from playing alongside stars like Luka Doncic and LeBron James, which could provide him with easier scoring opportunities. He expressed appreciation for Doncic's efforts in team bonding, notably a Porsche Driving Experience event, which Ayton described as a unique and impressive gesture he had never encountered before.

Despite attending the team bonding event, Ayton revealed that he has not yet participated in workouts with Doncic or James, indicating that he is waiting for the coaching staff, including JJ Redick, to organize sessions to build chemistry among the players. His best statistical season was in 2019-20, where he averaged 18.2 points and 11.5 rebounds, and if he can approach similar numbers, it would significantly benefit the Lakers' performance this season.
