DeKalb County football player dies after medical emergency at practice

A DeKalb County high school football player, Mikah King, died after suffering a medical emergency during practice on Tuesday at Arabia Mountain High School.

School officials identified King as the player involved. According to high school football statistics websites like Max Preps and Hudl, King was a rising sophomore who played guard, defensive tackle, and center for the Arabia Mountain Rams.

The school district stated that grief counselors will be available at the school for students and staff needing support. In a written statement, the district expressed, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and school during this difficult time."
