Desmond Bane shares Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton injury update after text exchange

Tyrese Haliburton suffered an Achilles injury during Game 7 of the NBA Finals, significantly damaging the Indiana Pacers' chances of winning their first championship. While Haliburton assured fans he would return "hungrier than ever," teammate Desmond Bane provided a more recent update.

Bane, present at Game 7 when Haliburton got hurt in the first quarter, revealed on "The Zach Lowe Show" that he had been texting Haliburton. Bane stated, "I was actually texting with him this morning, just more so about life than anything," and described Haliburton as being in "decent spirits." Bane explained that witnessing the injury live made it clear it was serious, adding, "I was just hoping for the best for him... I’m sure he’s going to attack this rehab and get back and be better."

Given the typical severity of an Achilles injury, Haliburton is expected to miss a substantial part of the upcoming season. Haliburton himself addressed the situation on social media, vowing to "do everything in my power" to return stronger. He quoted Kobe Bryant's perspective on a similar injury, emphasizing resilience: "Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever."
