Dwyane Wade will join Amazon's Prime Video as an in-game and studio analyst for its inaugural NBA coverage season launching in October. He'll be part of a star-studded broadcast team that includes former Miami Heat teammate Udonis Haslem, Basketball Hall of Famers Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki, and women's basketball legend Candace Parker, whom Wade affectionately calls his "sister."
Wade expressed enthusiasm about rejoining a team environment post-retirement, stating it fulfills his desire for locker-room camaraderie. He looks forward to on-air conversations with former competitors who've "been in the same battle" and is particularly excited about courtside commentary, citing his positive experience calling games at the 2024 Paris Olympics for NBC where he enjoyed providing real-time reactions and context for viewers.
During the Olympics, Wade partnered with play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle—son of veteran sportscaster Ian Eagle, who will also call games for NBA on Prime—and praised Noah for "carrying" their broadcast team. Wade plans to apply lessons from his Olympic broadcasting experience to his new role with Prime Video.
