Everton target 'very close' to Premier League move as rivals confident of agreement

Everton are intensifying their transfer efforts before their Premier League opener against Leeds United on August 18th. They have already signed Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this window.

The club continues to pursue further signings. They have had two bids for Southampton's Tyler Dibling rejected and have opened initial talks with Manchester City regarding a loan move for Jack Grealish. However, City demands any loaning club covers Grealish's full £300,000 weekly salary, complicating a potential deal.

Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is a target for both Everton and Nottingham Forest. Juventus is reluctant to agree to a loan deal and prefers a permanent transfer, while both Premier League clubs favor a loan with an option or obligation to buy. Manchester United has also been linked with Luiz, who struggled in his first season at Juventus.

Despite Everton's interest, Italian reports suggest Luiz is 'very close' to joining Nottingham Forest. Should Forest sign Luiz, Ibrahim Sangaré could potentially leave the club as part of the deal or in a separate agreement.
