The LA Clippers, despite limited flexibility, made several offseason acquisitions including Brook Lopez, Chris Paul, Bradley Beal, and John Collins. To facilitate these moves, the Clippers initially waived prospect Jordan Miller. However, on Tuesday, the team announced they signed Miller to a two-way contract.
To create space for Miller on their two-way roster, which already had three players, the Clippers waived Patrick Baldwin Jr. The team retained Kobe Sanders and Trentyn Flowers. The Clippers confirmed the signing of Miller to a two-way contract and the corresponding waiver of Baldwin Jr. in their official announcement.
Patrick Baldwin Jr., drafted 28th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2022, was considered a high-upside prospect but struggled to establish himself in the NBA. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 31 appearances during his only season with the Warriors. Following the 2022-23 season, Golden State traded Baldwin Jr., Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins, and draft assets to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul.
After a season and a half with the Wizards, Baldwin Jr. was traded to the San Antonio Spurs at the 2025 trade deadline as part of a four-team deal involving Khris Middleton and Kyle Kuzma. The Spurs waived him, and he subsequently signed a two-way deal with the Clippers, playing only two games for them before being waived again to make room for Jordan Miller.
