FC Bayern Women eclipse 50k for Allianz Arena opener

Bayern Munich's women's team (FC Bayern Frauen) will host Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena with over 50,000 tickets sold for their Frauen-Bundesliga opener, breaking their previous attendance record. The match follows a successful season in which the team won the league and cup, along with a second consecutive Super Cup title.

Typically, the team plays at the FC Bayern Campus, which has a capacity of only 2,500—20 times smaller than the tickets already sold for this upcoming game. While consistently filling the Allianz Arena may not be feasible, the club's success and ambitions to compete at the highest level in Europe suggest a need for a larger venue than their current home.

The team recently completed a title-winning season with two consecutive clean sheets, marking a perfect send-off for head coach Alexander Straus. Although both title wins are not yet officially confirmed, three trophies are anticipated for celebration this year.
