Former Milwaukee Bucks forward Nikola Mirotic has signed a contract with A.S. Monaco in the EuroLeague, marking his fourth European team since leaving the NBA after the 2018-19 season. Mirotic, who only played 14 games for the Bucks that season due to injuries (48 games total that year including time with New Orleans), chose to return to Europe despite interest from other NBA teams.
The 34-year-old power forward, known for his effective scoring and ability as a stretch forward, averaged 17.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game last season with Emporio Armani Milan. He believes he can still contribute at a high level, leveraging his three-point shooting and midrange game to pressure defenses.
While Mirotic possesses skills desirable in the modern NBA, including three-point shooting and rebounding, he appears set to spend the remainder of his career in Europe, preferring to play closer to his Montenegrin home. Although the Bucks could potentially use his skills off the bench given their frontcourt depth, his return to the NBA seems unlikely.
