Shake Milton, a former NBA guard, is set to join Serbian club Partizan Belgrade for his next career move. Milton entered the NBA in 2018 as a second-round pick from SMU and played for six different teams during his time in the league.
Milton spent part of the 2023-24 season with the New York Knicks, appearing in six regular-season games and four playoff games after being claimed off waivers from the Detroit Pistons. His most notable performance for the Knicks was scoring seven points with three rebounds and two assists in a win over Toronto. He became a footnote in Knicks history as he was included in the trade that brought Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.
Traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in December, Milton averaged 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 27 games before being released on Saturday following the Lakers' acquisition of Marcus Smart.
Partizan Belgrade is highlighted as one of Europe's most accomplished clubs, noted as the only Serbian team to have faced NBA opposition (playing the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets). The club boasts notable alumni including Bogdan Bogdanovic, Vlade Divac, Dante Exum, Nenad Kristic, Jan Vesely, and former Knicks lottery pick Frank Ntilikina.
