Former Sky Players Still Active In WNBA Playoffs

The Chicago Sky, despite a history of five consecutive playoff appearances and a 2021 championship win, have failed to make the WNBA Playoffs for the second consecutive year. This comes after the team added promising draft picks Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, highlighting a downturn in their performance. Meanwhile, four other teams—Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, Phoenix Mercury, and Indiana Fever—are competing in the 2025 postseason, with several former Sky players among them still contending for a title.

Among the playoff teams, the Minnesota Lynx feature former Sky players Courtney Williams, who averaged 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in the regular season, and Sylvia Fowles, a Hall of Famer who won championships with the Lynx in 2015 and 2017. The Las Vegas Aces include Dana Evans, a member of the Sky's 2021 championship team, who contributed 6.6 points and 2.2 assists this season, and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, who previously played six seasons with Chicago.

The Phoenix Mercury advanced to the second round by defeating the New York Liberty, with former Sky player and 2021 champion Kahleah Copper playing a key role, nearly achieving a double-double in a critical game. The Indiana Fever, while still in the playoffs, have no major former Sky players on their roster.
