Gilas Pilipinas is scheduled to face the Guam national team in the first window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, with an away game on November 28 at the Calvo Field House in Guam, followed by a home game on December 1 at the Blue Eagle gym in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas officially announced the matches via their Facebook page, confirming that the Philippine men's national basketball team, coached by Tim Cone, will begin their qualifiers on the road against Guam before returning for the home fixture.
Quentin Millora-Brown, a 6-foot-10 player reclassified as a local by FIBA, is anticipated to make his debut for Gilas Pilipinas, bringing size and inside presence to the team as Kai Sotto recovers from a knee injury, according to Coach Cone's previous statements.
The team is motivated by their recent seventh-place finish in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 and includes a pool of players led by naturalized Filipinos Justin Brownlee and Angelo Kouame, along with PBA stars like Japeth Aguilar, Scottie Thompson, RJ Abarrientos, June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo.
Notably, Dwight Ramos and AJ Edu are currently playing in the Japan B.League, while Kevin Quiambao and Carl Tamayo are competing in the Korean Basketball League, adding international experience to the squad.
