Hekari Womens FC advanced to their second consecutive OFC Women’s Champions League final with a 6-1 victory over Ba Women FC in the first semi-final held at Stade Pater in Papeete. Despite dominating possession and build-up play from the start, Hekari lacked finishing quality in the first half, though they delivered a clinical performance after halftime.
Hekari took an early lead in the 5th minute when Ba goalkeeper Mereseni Waqali's error allowed Nenny Elipas to score into an empty net. Hekari missed several chances to extend their lead, with Michaelyne Butubu and Romona Padio failing to convert. Ba equalized just before halftime (44') when captain Luisa Tamanitoakula converted a penalty won after a mistake by Hekari goalkeeper Gloria Laeli. Waqali redeemed herself slightly with two crucial saves near halftime.
Level at 1-1 at the break, Hekari dominated the second half. Marie Kaipu restored their lead in the 52nd minute, beating Waqali at the near post. Just two minutes later, Kaipu assisted Elipas for her second goal. Kaipu set up Elipas again in the 58th minute to complete her hat-trick. Kaipu scored her second goal (and seventh of the tournament) with a header in the 69th minute after the ball rebounded off the crossbar. Phylis Pala completed the scoring from the penalty spot five minutes before fulltime.
The final score was Ba Women FC 1 (Tamanitoakula 44' pen) to Hekari Womens FC 6 (Elipas 5', 54', 58'; Kaipu 52', 69'; Pala 85').
