Despite their on-field success, concerns have arisen about the atmosphere at Emirates Stadium, with opposition fans mocking it as a "library" due to perceived lack of noise. This issue is not exclusive to Arsenal, as supporters from other top clubs have also expressed disappointment over subdued home match environments.

Factors contributing to the perceived drop in atmosphere include heightened fan expectations and the team's trophy drought, having not won the Premier League since 2004 and their last major trophy being the 2020 FA Cup. Manager Mikel Arteta has repeatedly emphasized the importance of fan support, aiming to create the "best atmosphere in the world" at the Emirates. He regularly communicates with supporters in pre-match news conferences, urging them to arrive early and engage actively during games, such as by maintaining positive body language and "playing the game with us."

To address the issue, Arsenal have implemented changes, including removing the cover from the players' tunnel this season. This allows both Arsenal and opposition players to hear the crowd noise before kick-off and facilitates more interaction, such as high-fives between players and fans. Arteta highlighted that this move is intended to "ignite the atmosphere," believing that fan involvement can significantly impact the team's performance on the pitch.
