Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen announced that his 7-year-old son, Wesley, is almost fully recovered after a seven-month battle with leukemia. Hines-Allen shared the news on social media, expressing immense gratitude to the medical team for their care and support during Wesley's treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia, a rare and potentially life-threatening blood cancer.
Following Wesley's diagnosis, Hines-Allen did not play in the Jaguars' January 2024 season finale. Wesley is scheduled to undergo his final chemotherapy treatment in late August at Nemours Children's Health in Jacksonville. His mother, Kaitlyn Hines-Allen, reported that Wesley is doing great, swimming daily, running around, and playing sports.
Inspired by their son's battle, the Hines-Allens announced through their foundation, Four One For All, a seasonlong campaign called "Four One For Hope" for the 2025 NFL season. This initiative aims to support families battling pediatric cancer by giving back to four different cancer-focused nonprofits each month: Nemours Children's Health (September), American Cancer Society (October), Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville (November), and National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (December).
