Despite signing a record-breaking $255 million contract in 2023, making him the highest-paid NFL player at the time, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to live modestly. Instead of purchasing a mansion, he rents a $2,000-a-month apartment in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, near Philadelphia.
Hurts explained his choice stems from a desire for simplicity. He made a deliberate decision to rent a small apartment upon being drafted in 2020, stating he didn't need a large place just for himself. Even after his massive contract extension, he has not upgraded to a lavish home, which is unusual for a young athlete with significant wealth.
However, Hurts has invested in real estate for his family. Before buying anything for himself, he purchased a $215,000 home in his hometown of Humble, Texas, and put it under his father's name. Later, in 2023, he bought a 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom house in Houston under his mother's name.
