Al-Nassr has agreed a deal worth up to £43.7m to sign Chelsea forward Joao Felix. The 25-year-old has been given permission to travel to Riyadh for his medical to finalize the transfer. Felix will join fellow Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi Pro League club, having chosen them over former club Benfica.
Chelsea recoups the £45m they paid Atletico Madrid for Felix last summer. The player also spent a six-month loan spell at AC Milan in January for a £5m fee. This sale is part of Chelsea's wider transfer activity, having already sold goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, and winger Noni Madueke, raising approximately £130m so far this summer. Further players, including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, and Armando Broja, are currently available for sale.
Despite raising funds, Chelsea has spent £212m on new signings like Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro, and maintains interest in Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato. The club is under pressure from UEFA to achieve a "positive transfer balance" this summer. This follows an initial £27m fine and conditions imposed on Chelsea to comply with financial rules; failure could risk their ability to register new signings for the Champions League.
