Joel Embiid not listed on Sixers injury report for opening night, Paul George out vs. Celtics

The first injury report for the Philadelphia 76ers' 2025-26 season opener against the Boston Celtics has been released, with Joel Embiid notably not listed on the report in any capacity, confirming he is fully available for opening night.

Embiid last played in a regular season game on February 22, making only 19 appearances in the previous season before undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in April. His readiness was indicated by his participation in a preseason exhibition last week, his first since 2023.

Three Sixers players are ruled out for the opener: Paul George (knee), Trendon Watford (hamstring), and Jared McCain (thumb). George has been practicing but is unlikely to debut immediately, while McCain's thumb injury occurred just before training camp, and Watford's hamstring issue has persisted for nearly a month.

For the Celtics, Jaylen Brown is questionable with a left hamstring strain but participated fully in Tuesday's practice, and Jayson Tatum is listed as out, marking the only two players on Boston's injury report.
