Former Liverpool and Wrexham footballer Joey Jones has died at the age of 70.
Jones, affectionately known as 'Mr Wrexham', won two European Cups with Liverpool in the 1970s. He also played for Chelsea and Huddersfield, and represented Wales 72 times between 1975 and 1982.
He began his career at Wrexham in 1971, winning the Welsh Cup in 1975 during his first spell. After joining Liverpool in 1975, he enjoyed a successful three-year period, helping the club win the European Cup in 1977 and again in 1978.
Fellow Liverpool legends John Aldridge and Jamie Carragher paid tribute to Jones. Aldridge described him as "a lovely man and an inspirational full back" who gave his "heart and soul" for all his clubs, offering condolences to his family.
