Lecce has announced that Kilmarnock defender Corrie Ndaba is nearing a transfer to the Italian Serie A club. The club shared a photo on social media showing the 25-year-old Irish center-half wearing a Lecce scarf, confirming his arrival on Saturday afternoon to undergo a medical examination scheduled for completion on Monday.
Ndaba's absence from Kilmarnock's matchday squad during their 4-0 victory over East Fife, which secured their advancement to the Premier Sports Cup last 16, was directly attributed to this transfer process. The defender had signed a three-year contract with the Scottish Premiership club last summer after a prior loan spell, making 39 appearances (37 starts) during the 2023-24 season as Kilmarnock finished ninth.
The move would see Ndaba join Lecce, who narrowly avoided relegation by finishing 17th in Serie A and recently reappointed Eusebio Di Francesco as head coach. Ndaba, a former Republic of Ireland U18 international, began his career in Ipswich Town's youth system but never broke into their first team, having loan spells at six lower-league English and Scottish clubs before permanently joining Kilmarnock.
