OG Anunoby, forward for the New York Knicks, has signed a marketing agreement with Skechers, as announced by the shoe brand on Thursday. He will wear Skechers SKX Nexus and SKX Reign sneakers during the upcoming NBA season, having previously sported the Nexus model during the Knicks' Eastern Conference Finals run this spring.
Anunoby will represent Skechers alongside Brooklyn Nets guard Terance Mann on a European promotional tour starting July 26, visiting Belgrade, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Zadar. This partnership expands Skechers' growing presence in basketball, which began with Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid's endorsement in late 2023.
The brand has subsequently secured deals with multiple NBA players including Julius Randle (Timberwolves), Jabari Walker (76ers), Norman Powell (Heat), and Josh Green (Hornets), plus WNBA athletes Rickea Jackson (Sparks), Jackie Young (Aces), and Kiki Iriafen (Mystics).
Skechers' basketball expansion aligns with its surging valuation. The company was acquired in a $9.4 billion deal in May 2024, placing its worth equivalent to the Golden State Warriors franchise according to Sportico.
Anunoby, who averaged career-best 18.0 points and 0.9 blocks per game after joining the Knicks from Toronto in 2023, is entering the second year of his five-year, $212.5 million contract with New York.
