Two individuals were injured in a boating accident at Medicine Creek State Recreation Area on July 13th at 4:30 p.m. while tubing.
According to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, a tube carrying a 45-year-old man from Indianola, his 11-year-old son, and a 13-year-old boy from Danbury collided with a moored boat while being pulled.
The 45-year-old man sustained severe injuries to his head, back, and pelvis. He was transported by ambulance to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney and is reported in stable condition. The 13-year-old boy was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of injuries to both his legs.
The 11-year-old son did not sustain injuries requiring medical attention.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Frontier County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident, assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
