Landing Spots for NBA Free Agent Malik Beasley

Malik Beasley is no longer a target in the federal gambling investigation conducted by the Eastern District of New York, significantly boosting his appeal as a free agent. Last season, he proved to be one of the league's most prolific and accurate three-point shooters, making 319 triples at a 41.6 percent rate.

The Detroit Pistons, who were previously set to sign him to a three-year, $42 million deal before the investigation, can now only offer a deal starting at $7.2 million for 2025–26 due to offseason moves. Despite this, his familiarity with the team and the positive impact he had alongside Cade Cunningham make him a valuable potential re-signing.

The New York Knicks have shown interest in Beasley but can only offer a minimum salary. However, they could provide a significant role on a title-contending team, especially given their need for three-point shooting after ranking 24th in the league last season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are another team linked to Beasley, also limited to a veteran minimum offer. They present an opportunity for meaningful contention, though their backcourt depth remains a concern despite the addition of Lonzo Ball, whose availability has been inconsistent.
