Zach Edey, the former Purdue basketball star and current Memphis Grizzlies center, has unveiled a new tattoo that narrates his life journey through basketball, as showcased this weekend. The tattoo, shared on Instagram, integrates key symbols representing his background, college career, and professional path, emphasizing his personal story in the sport.

The tattoo design features the Canadian flag, a basketball, Purdue's Boilermaker Special mascot, and the Memphis Grizzlies logo. According to an Instagram post by @terry_itat, who created the custom piece, it was intended to symbolize Edey's origins in Canada, his collegiate experience at Purdue, and his NBA drafting by the Grizzlies, with the post highlighting how it captures his life narrative.

Edey's time at Purdue was highly decorated, as he earned two National Player of the Year honors and departed as the program's all-time leader in scoring and rebounding. He also guided the Boilermakers to consecutive Big Ten championships and an appearance in the National Championship Game during his tenure.

Following a four-year college career, Edey was selected ninth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2024 NBA Draft. In his rookie season with the team, the 7-foot-4 center posted averages of 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, marking his transition to the professional league.
