Manchester City have submitted a renewed and significantly improved bid exceeding £50 million for Newcastle United's 22-year-old right-back Tino Livramento, as reported by TBR Football. This move signals City's strong determination to strengthen their right-back position following Kyle Walker's departure to Burnley.

City's interest in Livramento dates back to June, when an initial £40 million offer was rejected by Newcastle. The young defender, who impressed for England at the U21 Euros, remains a primary target for City, who have now returned with a substantially higher bid to test Newcastle's resolve.

Newcastle, however, have no current intention of selling Livramento. Instead, they have offered him a new contract that would significantly increase his salary and place him among the club's top earners. Livramento has three years remaining on his existing deal.

City's pursuit is driven by the need to fill the void left by Kyle Walker's exit. While Matheus Nunes has filled in during pre-season, he is naturally a central midfielder. Livramento is viewed as a logical successor due to his pace, physicality, and game intelligence, qualities even Walker has praised.

Although Livramento is City's first choice, contingency plans are in place. Juventus duo Andrea Cambiaso and Nicolo Savona are also on City's radar, with Savona noted for his versatility across defence. Newcastle are also reportedly monitoring Savona. Another option, Denzel Dumfries, was offered to City earlier in the summer but a deal was not pursued despite his now-expired £20 million release clause.

Further squad changes could facilitate a new arrival, as defender Manuel Akanji is in talks with Fenerbahce over a potential move.

The situation remains unresolved. While City's willingness to pay over £50 million underlines their serious intent, Newcastle's financial strength and ambitions under their new ownership mean they are under no immediate pressure to sell. The outcome could depend on whether City's offer reaches a threshold Newcastle cannot ignore and potentially Livramento's own desire to compete for major trophies.
