Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has vetoed a proposed law that aimed to declare the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) as the National Polytechnic University. This decision was announced by Malacañang Palace on Friday.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, the veto was implemented because the PUP failed to meet certain requirements set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). These requirements specifically pertain to establishing the operation of both its regular and extension campuses.
