Mariners 4, Rockies 3: Raise a glass — but not for the Rockies

Early in the game, the Rockies took the lead in the second inning when Jordan Beck hit a lead-off double and Kyle Karros followed with an RBI single, making it 1-0. Rockies pitcher Brown then struck out the side, demonstrating a strong performance through the early innings.

The Mariners tied the game in the fifth inning with a home run by Dominic Canzone, leveling the score at 1-1. However, the Rockies regained the lead in the sixth inning: Mickey Moniak led off with a double, Blaine Crim walked, and after Mariners starter Bryce Miller was replaced by Eduard Bazardo, Ezequiel Tovar hit a single that scored two runs, putting the Rockies ahead 3-1.

In the eighth inning, the Rockies' bullpen faltered when Juan Mejia entered in relief. Mejia hit Victor Robles with a pitch, walked J.P. Crawford, and after striking out two batters, hit Julio Rodríguez to load the bases. This implosion allowed the Mariners to capitalize, leading to their 4-3 victory and postseason qualification.
