Durant appeared on LeBron James and Steve Nash's podcast, "Mind the Game," discussing his struggles in Brooklyn. Durant mentioned "all the extra stuff" happening around him and Nash, implying they were aligned, while Irving was frequently part of those off-court distractions.

Irving's time in Brooklyn was marked by significant controversies, including his refusal to get vaccinated and a suspension for sharing an antisemitic post.
