The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a 112-100 loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers at Fiserv Forum on Sunday. This defeat extends their winless record against the East's top three teams (Cleveland, Boston, New York) to 0-9 this season, including an 0-4 mark specifically against the Cavaliers.
Bucks coach Doc Rivers identified a lack of offensive trust as a key issue compared to the Cavaliers, stating it would be evident when his team reviewed the game footage. He emphasized that the Cavs displayed consistent trust throughout the game, something the Bucks need to emulate, recalling their more competitive performance in the first matchup against Cleveland.
Rivers pinpointed the offense as the primary reason for the loss, asserting that while the defense was adequate to win, the offense was not. The Bucks managed only 17 assists on 39 made baskets and committed 18 turnovers.
Star player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored a game-high 30 points, echoed the offensive concerns, criticizing the team's lack of penetration by saying they were playing "side-to-side" instead of "downhill."
