Myles Turner is ending his 10-year tenure with the Indiana Pacers to join the Milwaukee Bucks on a four-year deal, marking the first time since 2015 the Pacers will have a new starting center. His move to the franchise most disliked by Pacers fans has sparked negative reactions, overshadowing his decade of service.
Turner has further alienated fans through recent actions. During Summer League, he made disparaging remarks towards Pacers fans. Subsequently, in an interview on the Bucks' social media, when asked about the most famous contact in his phone, he deliberately referenced Pacers legend Reggie Miller only to dismiss him, stating, "Well, I guess I can't say Reggie Miller... Shaquille O'Neal," despite Miller being the most beloved player in franchise history and credited with keeping the team in Indiana.
His comments about Miller, coupled with his departure to a rival, are seen as antagonistic. This follows criticism of Turner's performance in the NBA Finals against the Thunder, where he missed numerous open shots and is considered a factor in the Pacers' failure to win the championship. If his behavior continues, he is expected to receive boos upon his return to Indiana, despite his contributions, which included averaging 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and shooting 39.6% from three-point range in his final season with the Finals-bound Pacers.
