The NBA concluded its investigation into Kevin Porter Jr.'s alleged September 11, 2023 domestic violence incident late last week, resulting in a four-game suspension. The league and the NBPA agreed that this suspension was deemed served based on the facts and circumstances, as Porter did not play during the 2023-24 NBA season following his arrest and subsequent waiver by the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 18, 2023. This follows a precedent set in a similar case involving Miles Bridges.
After playing briefly in Greece in spring 2024, Porter returned to the NBA for the 2024-25 season by signing a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. His criminal record related to the incident was cleared on January 23, 2025, after he fulfilled the terms of a plea agreement.
The Milwaukee Bucks acquired Porter in a trade with the Clippers on February 6. Playing in 30 games (two starts) for the Bucks, he averaged about 20 minutes per game, shooting 49.4% from the field and 40.8% from three-point range – numbers that would represent career bests for a full season. In his first career playoff games against Indiana, he averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 assists.
In July, Porter signed a two-year, $10.5 million deal to return to the Milwaukee Bucks.
