Newcastle United interested in €100 million Chelsea player

Chelsea secured fourth place in the Premier League, qualifying for the Champions League, and also won both the Conference League and the Club World Cup, defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the latter final.

Newcastle United finished fifth, achieving back-to-back Champions League qualifications, but face a challenge with Alexander Isak potentially leaving. Consequently, they are actively seeking a replacement striker.

Newcastle have reportedly identified Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson as a potential transfer target, adding him to their list according to The Daily Mail.

Despite being Chelsea's primary striker last season, Jackson faces increased competition for his place following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. Pedro impressed at the Club World Cup, while Delap is settling in.

Jackson has largely failed to meet expectations at Chelsea, despite showing occasional promise, and has also had disciplinary issues resulting in red cards that negatively impacted the team. One such red card came in a 2-0 loss to Newcastle.

Although Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is believed to rate Jackson, a transfer away from Stamford Bridge remains possible. Jackson's future is expected to become clearer during pre-season friendlies, which may define his role. Chelsea are reportedly seeking a transfer fee around €100 million for the 24-year-old Senegalese international.
