OKC Thunder 2025-26 Season Opener Revealed Through Key NBA Dates

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, the NBA announced key dates, including an Opening Night scheduled for October 21. The Thunder are expected to open their season that night, featuring a championship banner drop and ring ceremony, likely as part of a televised double-header on NBC/Peacock.

The Thunder's preseason will begin earlier, on October 5, with a game against the Charlotte Hornets. The full 82-game regular season schedule, including their Opening Night opponent, will be announced in mid-August.

Despite the heavy workload of the previous season (83 games including the NBA Cup and playoffs ending June 22), the Thunder are projected as favorites to win the championship again. However, recent NBA champions have failed to advance past the second round in their title defense year.
