McDonald attributed her performance to a shift in mentality, stating postgame that she entered the game with confidence and an "attack mentality" after being unhappy with her recent play, which helped keep Indiana competitive early.

Aliyah Boston also made a significant contribution to the victory, scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

With this win, the Fever extended their winning streak to three games, improving their overall season record to 15-12. The Mercury's record dropped to 16-10 following the loss.

Despite the defeat, Alyssa Thomas had an outstanding performance for the Mercury, recording a game-high 32 points and 15 rebounds.
