Phoenix Suns make “concrete” offer to Golden State Warriors wing Jonathan Kuminga

The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings have made concrete offers to acquire Golden State Warriors wing Jonathan Kuminga, with both teams described as highly aggressive in their pursuit.

The Golden State Warriors, in any potential sign-and-trade deal for Kuminga, are reportedly seeking a first-round draft pick, a solid role player, and no burdensome contracts. The Suns lack available first-round picks but possess numerous role players to offer.

Due to Kuminga's high asking price, any Suns trade package would necessitate including either shooting guard Grayson Allen (earning nearly $17 million) or Royce O'Neale (costing around $10 million). Both are considered highly effective NBA shooters who could complement Stephen Curry. Phoenix has depth at shooting guard and could afford to lose one of them without significant positional impact.

Kuminga averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 45.4% shooting during the 2024-2025 season. His value in free agency and the trade market may have been negatively affected by limited playing time ("DNPs") during the playoffs, stemming from reported turmoil with head coach Steve Kerr, which could potentially aid Phoenix's efforts to acquire him.
