The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team is set to participate in the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, marking their record 19th appearance in the tournament. The team will compete in Group I, with their opening match scheduled for November 5 against Burkina Faso, a rematch following a 2-1 U.S. victory in the 2023 World Cup. Their group stage continues with matches against Tajikistan on November 8 and Czechia on November 11, all taking place at the Aspire Zone in Al Rayyan.
The tournament will be broadcast in English on Fox Sports platforms and in Spanish on Telemundo platforms and the Peacock app. The U.S. roster includes 21 players, with 19 born in 2008 and two in 2009, all age-eligible for the competition. The squad is composed of three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and six forwards, featuring players from 15 different clubs.
Notably, 17 players come from 11 Major League Soccer clubs, with the Philadelphia Union contributing the most players (four). Other MLS teams represented include LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, and Real Salt Lake (two each), and single players from Atlanta United, Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, LAFC, New York City FC, and Sporting Kansas City. International clubs Borussia Dortmund (Germany) and Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), as well as USL Championship sides Birmingham Legion and Orange County SC, also have players on the roster.
Striker Nimfasha Berchimas from Charlotte FC is a key returnee, having scored three goals in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. Additionally, three training players—Micah Harris, Logan Moniz, and Oliver Tan—will join the team during the pre-camp in Abu Dhabi. The U.S. qualified for the expanded 48-team World Cup by winning their group in the Concacaf qualifiers held in Costa Rica in February, securing victories over U.S. Virgin Islands (22-0), Saint Kitts and Nevis (7-0), and Cuba (2-0).
